I am a Postdoctoral Researcher working with Dr. Joshua Hartshorne at the MGH Institute for Health Professions. I earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my doctorate, I worked with Drs. Cynthia Fisher and Renee Baillargeon. I earned a M.Sc. in Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where I was advised by Dr. Mark Sabbagh. Before my current postdoc, I held a two-year postdoctoral position at Purdue University working with Dr. Arielle Borovsky.
My research investigates the cognitive mechanisms that support real-time language comprehension and word learning in early childhood. I focus on how young children draw on their growing knowledge of events and language to make sense of words as sentences unfold, using tools like eye-tracking and large-scale language data. Want to know more details? See Research.
I am passionate about socioculturally responsive, research-informed pedagogy that supports diverse learners and I have extensive mentoring and undergraduate teaching experience. See Teaching for more detail and a mentorship philosophy statement.
I am currently looking for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor (or equivalent) position.
